Karla Weng, MPH, CPHQ is a Senior Program Manager for Stratis Health, providing expertise to a variety of initiatives focused on rural providers and communities. For more than 20 years, Karla has worked on a wide variety of efforts helping rural hospitals and providers improve quality, patient safety, and population health such as development of palliative care services, implementation of quality management methods, preventing readmissions, and clinical quality efforts on topics such heart failure and diabetes. In recent years, much of Karla’s work has focused on the intersection between payment and quality and she currently serves as the technical assistance lead for the HRSA FORHP funded Rural Health Value program. Karla is a past-president of the Minnesota Rural Health Association, was a 2008 National Rural Health Association Fellow, and previously served as adjunct faculty for the University of Minnesota - Crookston in Health Policy.
